Hello, this is a small breakdown about the “recorded stuff” side of the Design42Day video. (You can see the original video below)
Onur always likes to mix traditional and digital, so do I.And this project was a perfect opportunity to try somethin.
I always wanted to play with instruments in different ways. First I played santoor with a bow and a string, it’s so suitable for creating atmospehric soundsin an organic feeling. I dropped different objects on the strings(which are not included in video) like metal sticks,some furry objects, neklace like stuff with small pieces…
While recording udu, i tried different amounts of water. The water sound in it was suitable for the liquid scene in the video. But my main aim to use it for the beat.And it worked for both actually. Water in it, effects the bass really nicely.So i created the beat with mixing various digital and acoustic sounds.
Besides those, of course there is a huge computer process, played around bass, some piano, synths etc..
